wt1: JM = JOHNS-MANVILLE COMPANY, Waukegan, IL. Used 1926 through 1973.
E (common) rating. Catalog # J99. Hope this helps.

Thanks a lot ... I'll add the information to my perfin collection.

Johns-Manville (in its former state, before filing for bankruptcy protection) was the leader in manufacturing asbestos-containing materials for roofing and insulation, a product which was later banned in the US due to its cancer causing effects. In fact, the former site in Waukegan, IL although now demolished is to the present day an EPA Superfund Site and it sounds like it's still a mess.

A perfin that was used for 47 years ... that's a milestone in itself.
