Master Rutherford, now Mister, at age 25 in 1944 when he was a pfc attending the Army Airforce Officer Candidate School in Miami Fl.
He would make lieutenant. A couple of his letters home from over seas are posted above by Jeff and myself. Also the letter I posted to Miss Doris Gene Jolliff from the Union Pacific RR is his future wife.
