A lurker is someone that looks in from the outside, but never joins in. There are people viewing this forum now, who are not members and therefore do not contribute. These people are called lurkers. It is not a derogatory term, we love the lurkers, because they are all potential members. Just as we all were, before we signed up.

Hi All,

I think of myself as a casual lurker... I like to look at the entries people make, but after I read an entry or thread (string of entries in an on-line conversation), I don't always have anything to add and I don't want to make an entry that just says "Hi, I read this, but don't have any comments to add." And alot of times my time is limited so I just have time to read the entries, but not make any comments. I'm a slow typer - I'm a hunt-and-pecker (no jokes please) and it takes me a long time to compose what I want to say in an entry. My daughter is sitting beside me right now and she say's she'll vouch for that!

But I enjoy reading what all the posters have to say. Take it as a compliment when people read an entry but don't add a comment - as long as they return to read another entry later that is.

I'm snowed in today so actually have time to post a couple entries, but now have to get going to do some more shoveling.
