I had a very small collection of stamps when I was 13 years old. Now I'm back in the hobby and so far I am enjoying it a lot. This forum is the place where I come and gather information on stamp collecting. It was very helpful in helping me select my first album! I just bought the Mystic American Heirloom Standard 1847-present album, but I haven't received it yet. I plan to collect USPS Commemoratives, Definitives and some BOB. I recently saw the United Nations stamps on ebay, and I fell in love with them, too! I also have a few international stamps. I need to organize myself and prioritize. I don't want the hobby to overwhelm me, I'm just starting!

Hi I_Love_Stamps! I'm currently living in Philadelphia, so I think Clearfield is a little bit far from here! I've been buying a lot of stamps on ebay these days and I noticed many stamp sellers there are from Pennsylvania. Is it a coincidence a lot of collectors/sellers are from PA? Just an observation! ;)

vanisabri To SCF "Stamp Community Family" I too started when I was 13 / Life got in the way. I started back on my 65th BD when my Wife bought me the "American Heirloom Collection" I'm now 69 and have expanded from three volumes to Five. Take the time to read the Info when placing stamps in your album. It's fun, educational and Interesting.
Don't hinge any Mint Stamps. Use the mounts. In fact I don't hinge anything up to 700 because of Age and Value. Hope you enjoy collecting as much as I have. All the way from Northern Michigan. Again

Hi and welcome! I tried to stick to US for about a minute. now I have an office full everything. I found I really like covers. However I am putting far too much time into cataloging Mint US.
I always remember that it doesn't matter how many stamps I have... oh, uh, no it's I get as many as I can!, right, but I only try to organize a small few at a time. :)

Welcome.....I'm in York County and Yes, I would say Pennsylvania is a fairly active state as far as stamp collectors go.
I would sugest that you check for a local show to attend. There are several per year out here in Lancaster so I am sure Philly would have some of greater sheer size. The variety on offer is fairly mind-boggling at a large show. I also use the Heirloom album for my U.S., Steiner pages for international. John
