I didn't want to hijack Al E. Gator's thread about the one cent Franklin on ebay. I believe this stamp is Scott #24. Having trouble getting a clear scan of the stamp image due to the cancellation. Is this indeed a 24?
A side note about this stamp. On the back written in pencil is "42f". Could never figure what that meant. 2009 Scott 42 is 5c reprint and no f listing. Well it just dawned on me this might be a very old notation. Sure enough! I looked in my 1939 U.S. Scott Catalogue and there is a 42f. 1c blue type V of 1857. I believe this corresponds with the type 24.
