I have found most of the new American stamps hard to soak off. When they do they are wrinkled.

Linn's has just released a list of non-soakable U.S. stamps... if someone could get a copy of it up, we may be able to help Phil.

With these old soaks, you need vodka or gin.

Use lighter fluid and light wasn't that the trick. LOL

To be honest I started using really hot water then when it starts to separate I run it under warm tap water until it peels off.

On the ones That just will not soak I will use the lighter fluid trick for one stamp of each. But don't light that doesn't work so well.

When you say vodka or gin, is it for you or the stamps?

First, you try it on the stamps. If that doesn't work, you drink it and feel better.

Hi All,

Don't know if any of you are familiar with this site, but it may be helpful in indicating which recent USA stamps to soak with water and which to soak with other stuff or leave on paper...

http://www.virtualstampclub.com/2007usnew.html

Click on the year of interest then when the page comes up, scroll down the page. It gives you the stamp, Scott# and also shows soakability.
