Have the editors of Scott's US Specialized assigned a catalog Number for the recently re-issued (5/2/2014) "Where Dreams Blossom" stamp?? In looking over the Scott New Issues Update they have assigned numbers for the Charlton Heston Issue & sequentially continued to the Circus Posters Issue. They seem to have omitted the 'Blossoms' Issue. The USPS had held an official FDOI Ceremony at the Boxborough NE Federation Stamp Show (FDOI City was Acton MA). Any Information will be welcomed.

You are right, they seem to have bypassed this issue. I would guess that it will be Scott #4764a since there is no change in denomination. The fact that it was issued prior to the circus posters (4898-4905) would imply that, if it were to garner a major number, it ought to have been 4898. The fact that it wasn't assigned this number also indicates to me that 4764a is the likely catalog number. I suppose though that they could still assign it to 4906. It will likely show up in next month's update.

No yet. The Hester stamp was issued April 11th, the Where Dreams Blossom was just issued May 2nd- it takes a few weeks before a Scott number is announced, maybe in a week or two.

The Circus Poster Stamps issue has been assigned Scott #'s & that issue came after the Blossoms. Scott thus far has skipped over the Blossoms issue.

As expected, Scott assigned the 2014 "Where Dreams Blossom" a minor catalogue number ... 4764a.

Sometimes you just got to wonder on how Scott's thought processes work. I somewhat anticipated an alpha variation notation to the original issue but I was thinking on the lines of a MAJOR (upper case) variation to leave room for minor variations if found in the future on either issue.

The Scott Catalog has been known to change minor (lower case) letters if and when undiscovered varieties are found. I do think that in the case of the "Where Dreams Blossom" reprint, a lower case variety is warranted as the stamp is unchanged other than for the date.

It will be interesting to see what the Scott Catalog does with the upcoming Korean War Medal of Honor "prestige folio", as the stamps within will be unchanged from those issued for the WWII Medal of Honor issue except for the date, yet the entire "prestige folio" will be different.
