Someone gave me a bunch of stamps again.
Theres a few nice ones in there.
But I was wondering about these:

Like this one, what are those holes?
(Theres one at the bottom with the perforations also)

I also saw this, I was wondering what that kind of stamp is called on the right:

Theres also a few I would just like to share with all of u.
Maybe someone could give me some background about these, what they are etc.

Just kidding....
That is a revenue stamp.
The holes are punched to cancel it.
Makes it used....
Other items are common back of the book....
AirMail, vehicle registration, playing cards, stock transfers, etc...

The 1st is a revenue, the punch & writing show that it was used.
2nd is a common older airmail issue.
3rd pic shows US motor vehicle revenues.
4th is an offical seal, used if the Post Office found the letter open they would reseal it with that stamp and sign off on it!
5th pic on top is another revenue stamp with a precancel over the top. The other are stock transfers stamps with perfins.

All but the air mail are back of the book issues.

The stock transfer perfins would be best seen if you flip the stamps over gum side up.
To identify you'd need a Perfin Catalog. But all stamps a listed in Scott Specialized.
