Scott #14's (?) scans:

OK, here's what I'm attempting this morning- I'm trying my best to read through both the Brookman and Neinken reference books about the 10¢ 1855-1859 issues but the more I read the more confused I get. so I digress-

I need some professional help (and my wife totally agrees lol) on which types these are so I can better understand exactly what I'm looking at. I scanned my two (quite terrible) examples @1200 dpi so I can blow up and crop out any section of either stamp for your examination if need be. What types are these? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated! Thank you so very much for your time in advance. Sincerely, Jeff

Not my field exactly, but as I see them:

Upper - type II, #14 [Upper frame lines appear complete all the way across, lower shells partly cut]
Lower - trimmed type V, #35 (probably from a straddle)
[side ornaments trimmed, side pearls down to one, upper frames cut away above numerals]

Thank you once again essayk! I actually noticed that #35 after I blew it up on my scanner software. It never ceases to amaze me why people hack the perfs off a boardwalk Margin stamp? Its a terrible copy anyway. Thanks again! -Jeffrey

Go to my website http://www.stampexpertizing.com/, click on "Articles" then find the one for the 10c 1851-57 designs. Very simple to follow (I hope!) as the 5 different types are rather easy to ID if you use a simple process of elimination.
