Hello there fellow members.

I love India and am looking to purchase some stamps for investment purposes. I'm new to stamps and was hoping that someone could point me in the right direction so that I may educate myself and purchase stamps that will appreciate over the next 30 years.

I don't know if these stamps are worth anything but I was hoping to purchase stamps associated with either the British Raj or British/Dutch East India Trading Companies in India.

Thank you. I look forward to receiving your advice.

Pete

Hello pete hughes, welcome to Stamp Community!

There are a few people who comment on SCF here who are rather knowledgable about those areas mentioned.

I am not really.

It would be a help to post some of you request / question in a regular Main forum where the appropriate peope world be mmore likely to see it, alnog with using a good refernce title, as this forum feeds to Google after a day or so.

Some collectors get their investment out of enjoying the hunt and thrill of the chase, while others enjoy the money game. Or both.

Please be welcomed and use the Search function and peruse many of the related topics on here for further information.

If collecting to make a profit...good luck... Prices have really dropped. If investing, buy the best and most perfect stamps, not the used ones.
Fins a country or topic you like...enjoy the stamps as art

Hi Pete, I agree with the comments thus far garnered. If you haven't yet done so, Google or Bing, etc and search for the stamps you want to collect. There are many venues available, perhaps even in India! Of course, the majority will most likely be on ebay.

I have, as of late, significantly narrowed my collecting field to Canal Zone, early US including Revenues and the like, EFO's and BOB's in general. Oh, I forgot coils, especially error ones!

Take care, good health and have a great day!
