Overall measurement : 11x14mm

Looking at the grill, I'm seeing 13½ rows wide by 17½ rows high,
and the pattern appears to fit the horizontal Z grill spec...

2 scans, reverse first...

(and, yes, I'm aware it's a regum and there's a patched hole and thins)

It looks like a Z grill, but the vertical and horizontal rows have to be straight and precise looking. The first scan in OK, the second scan of the back lacks enough detail to be useful.

Thank you... that's the best I can do,
imagewise... this is an old 300dpi
document scanner which extrapolates
to higher resolutions, but, in doing
so, loses resolution of this type as
it was designed for document scanning
as opposed to graphical (ca. 1997)...

I was fairly certain it was a Z grill,
only wish it was in better condition,
but, in any event, nice to own one...

I do not wish to be critical, but how in the world can you have a stamp like that in your collection and NOT want to get it authenticated by third party expertizing? (And forget about this being self-promotion, it is not, this is a common sense issue). A genuine 85B is a GOOD stamp. That is a nice-looking copy, so money you spend acquiring a certificate of authenticity will be very well spent. Also, it's possible it is also UNUSED, and even if regummed, an unused 85B is a VERY good stamp. Getting such a good stamp authenticated should be an automatic act on the part of ANY collector.

Bill - Lets assume its an 85B. Its been regummed so it would be treated by Scott as unused (assuming that that shoe fits), and without digging out my Specialized, if memory serves Scott values an unused 85B at around $7K - ish.
Given that it is repaired, has a thin, and has some toned perf tips, what % of cat would you guestimate it be at? I realize this is subjective, but with your experience I thought you might be willing to hazard an estimate.

Bill... to tell you the plain honest truth,
I almost forgot I had it... it's been sitting
in my TBD box in the safe since 2010, and I'm
certain I must not have had any confident level
of surety (at the time I locked it away) it was
a Z - until the other discussion a few days back
with another member's stamp prodded my memory...

Today was the first time I've looked at it in
4 years, and between re-reading the Scott detail
and the info in the discussion I decided to check
it out and post it here...

I have alot of material (20+ items total-I think)
that I have put aside to send to you, but time is
always precious... I'll send this stamp to you
standalone this coming week first chance...
