I have been digging back in to my bank notes and trying to ID some fancy cancels, I need some help with this one as there are two similar cancels and am not sure which it is. Any thoughts would be appreciated.http://i439.photobucket.com/albums/...55696cbd.png

If I am not mistaken this is a Scott 147 with either a Waterbury, Conn rosette Gst-23, or a Ripon, Wisc rosette Gst-27.

Thanks You for looking,
Scott

Sometimes fancy cancel styles that were used in multiple cities can not be specifically identified because the exact origin is impossible to confirm. This Rosette fits into that category. It is not well struck and has no trace of a town postmark. So positive origin ID is not possible.

Thank you for your input Bill. I appreciate you taking a look and offering your opinion. I was figuring the same thing as what you stated but as I'm new to Id'ing the fancy cancels I was hoping I was wrong.
