Image is SC#10. I know this because the small red "Paid" in grid cancel was only used in Boston from 7/7 to 7/28 1851. I suspect it is from plate 1(e), but possible it could be 1(i). Left inner frame line complete but right inner line is missing except for line from ur diamond block thru triangle and just past rosette. Appreciate any help.
Anyone ever used any of the 3 cent plate photographs from Smithsonian? Would appreciate feedback. Thanks!

The stamp definitely is a Type II, #10A if it has any inner lines recut. I probably don't have time to plate the stamp but a better image would be required. I have a set of Chase reconstruction photos from the Smithsonian. They are ok but plating stamps with them is still not that easy. Stamps from Plate 1E and 1i are probably the easiest to plate though.

Thanks Kevin and Sinclair! The image was a scan and I have to admit the quality is less than I expected.

Owen,

There's members here who can plate the stamp, but as has been said you'd need a higher resolution scan.

I'd think it's likely plate 1E, possibly 1i. The red small boston paids are neat.
