New Collector

Hey guys and gals.

Im a new collector but have had my grandfathers stamp collection around my whole life but know nothing about it.

I don't have it with me where I live now but I stumbled on to a collection at a thrift store that is quite extensive and I'm just trying to figure things out.

Initially I bought them hoping to make a buck but Im thinking I might keep them and use them as a base for a new addiction.

Seems some research is in order. Have a look at one or more of the excellent philatelic magazines in hard copy or on line........given some thought to the countries / areas that interest you the most....and maybe dispose of the stuff that doesn't fit in there.

Is there a hardcopy guide I should be looking for as a launching point?
