398 A Carmine Lake?

The stamp shade looks like deep carmine but is probably actually carmine. The low contrast digital camera image tends to make colors muddy and white look gray. A level correction is needed to increase the tonal range of the image.

The 398a carmine lake is a distinctly different shade with a more intense carmine lake color which has a bluish cast compared to carmine. The 398b lake shade is the most striking of all having a very deep and rich lake color.
