Yes, it does matter very much. Look up the Scott c perf 10, dark blue top or bottom.

One on the left is perf 11. One on the right is perf 10. Is the left stamp regular blue? The right stamp looks like a darker blue to me. Maybe the left stamp is a little faded?

The stamp in the first post is a perf 10, a 586 as stated above. You are looking at the catalog listing for the error type of the perf 11, 557c which is perf 11 on three sides and perf 10 on the other. What you have pictured is NOT that stamp, and dark blue or deep blue really doesn't matter significantly for a 586.

Okay. Wow, pretty confusing with the Scott catalogue. Wish it would say "perf 11 on three sides,10 on other". Thank you.

Mine says: Perf 10 on top or bottom. Seems pretty plain to me.

That's not to say that Scotts isn't confusing with some of their descriptions...
