Good question. We know the working dies were able to be touched up in situ, as it were (that is, without going back to the hub die). Rotary or flat plate. It seems to me that reentry from a hub die, or partial hub die, would first require softening the working die. This might be difficult on a curved die used on a rotary press. We need someone who really knows the process to speak up on this one.
