LPB is actually currently running a 1 hour show on how the USPS selects and develops stamp designs. It shows the CSAC (Citizens Stamp Advisory Committee) and how they developed the musicians series - including Elvis (fat and skinny) - and the jazz, country, etc. composers and artists.
I couldn't believe it either when I saw the listing. Just finished watching it on MPB. The show title was "American Stamps" It is about the concept and design of stamps and in this area will air again Wednesday at 6pm. If interested you may want to check your PBS listing for your area. It was very interesting with the interviews.
