Flume House, New Hampshire Postmark And Postcard

This isn't mine, but I found the postmark interesting so I thought I'd post it.



A name like "Flume House" has to have a story, so upon checking into the history, it seems that Flume House was one of those early 20th century resort hotels up in the White Mountains of New Hampshire (Franconia Notch to be specific). This is what the hotel was described as back in the day:



And a picture postcard of what the hotel looked like back in the day:



Like many hotels of the era, the demise of the Flume House was when it was destroyed by fire in 1918 and never rebuilt.

Neat cancel and beautiful building! I love those Mansard roofs and how they have their own way of doing it in different places in the US. Very interesting! Thank you for all your research wt1. -Jeff
