I always thought this one was interesting. Apparently Grandma was such a stamp collecting junkie that all of her friends even supplied her habit. Here is one from Pikes Peak, Colorado.


I especially like the "Official Stamp" from the top of the Peak on August 21, 1935, and then the mailing cancellation from Manitou on August 22.

As the postcard implies, instead of taking an Auto, perhaps they took the Cog. (This would explain the time delay ...) In any case, the Cog system is still in place today.
