hanafi, I use irfanview for most of my imaging needs.

Here is a screenshot of selecting the "Image" option (3rd to the right). Then selecting "Resize/Resample" from the dropdown list. You can also press the keys "Ctrl+R" to get there.

Make sure that you have checked the box next to "Preserve Aspect Ratio (proportional) when you modify your image.

Another option is to use the "NEW! Free Image Optimizer" that is just below the "Upload Image" button that you can see when you "Reply to Topic".

Very good!

It is perf 11 and appears to be a flat plate printing. Your stamp is a Scott # 554.

As partime noted before, there could be a possibility of another stamp being behind it. That doesn't appear to be the case now that we can clearly see the back side. Some of the perforation holes are still attached at the top edge. This is somewhat common.

Sorry to jump in, but the stamp is not a 554. The condition of the perforations with so much hanging chad suggest that it is a rotary press 634.

When resizing scanned stamps preserving the aspect ratio is critically important. Changing the aspect ratio distorts stamp images with sometimes grotesque results.

Don't worry about jumping in. No one is right 100% of the time. You as an expert will be right much more often than I. Thanks for chiming in.

In retrospect, I should have asked for perforation measurements or design size measurements.
