Hello All,
This stamp isn't in be best condition - perf flaws, but I'm still trying to determine if it is Scott 25 or 26. It appears to be a dull red color to me, but there's a frame line at the bottom. It's also hard to see, but there's also a thin double frame line at left. Usually the perfs on this type of stamp are usually so close if not into the design I usually have to presume it's Scott 26 on color alone. Thanks! Will

Here's another one - it has a perf shift that cut off the Three Cents at the bottom, but there's a frame line at top. This one has only one frame line at left side. Again it looks like a dull red to me so I'm still uncertain.

Thanks for the confirmation! What resource do you use to plate the stamps?

Chase's 3c book is a must-have if you want to understand the 3c stamps of 1851-61. In addition to that, I have the complete set of Chase plate reconstruction photos. There are some good resources on the USPCS website as well. And, as a free resource to cheapskates that don't want to buy good reference books or even join and pay dues, the USPCS has made available scans of complete books and I think the Chase book is one of them.

Thank you again for that information. I've heard of the USPCS, but never thought of checking to see if they have a website. The whole website is quite a valuable tool. The Chase book is online as well as a number of other. There's also several 19th century postmark books that will be very useful as well for research.
