Thanks for the welcome! I am interested in finding more out about the Postal stationary and cards. I have around 100 or so from 1866 to 1960(FDC) most unused and some used with interesting cancels. Some have what looks like an ink smudge for a cancel? It seems that it is very specialized and I am learning some of the terminology that is used here but still finding my way in the study of "Phil". I find that reading the postings is a great way to educate myself. I'm about 1/4 of the way through. This can get addictive and I enjoy the professionalism of many members in their research and knowledge. A lot more to this hobby than on the surface. Still finding my way around the site, it seems very user friendly.

Assuming these are US postal stationery I believe the United Postal Stationery Society (UPSS) site is the best place to start.

They also offer great e-publications at a low cost. If you need help on any issue, suggest you post an image and sure someone will know answer.

I was reading some posts and Hal has good advise for newbies. I am going to get stamp tongs, a magnifying glass, and buy a Scott catalog or 2. Anyplace you know that I could get supplies reasonably?

I'm using an Iphone 6 to photograph the collection for records. I find the lighting can mess with the actual colors, any advise on special lighting needed for this? accurate
