I was looking at ebay listings and came across this today in a listing:

"MAJOR ERROR NEW INVERTED JENNY WITH BROKEN FRAME LINE ON 4 STAMPS BELOW THE E OF POSTAGE . . ABOUT 300,000 TO 400,000 HAVE BEEN SOLD OF THE SHEETS AND ONLY ABOUT A 1/2 DOZEN HAVE TURNED UP ON E-BAY I HAVE NOT SEEN ANY OTHERS WITH THE FRAME LINES BROKEN ON ANY OTHER SITES OR ADV. ANYWHERE ELSE DO THE MATH their is now talk in Linns stamp news that sometime in 2015 what is left will destroyed if this happens the rare 100 will be only 25 or so and the buy price could go to 1,000,000 and the error sheets with only a few known could be worth a ton more . theses prices on the error sheets with only few known may chance soon . NON ON E-BAY IN THE LAST 5 MONTHS OR ANYPLACE ELSE"

I don't have a subscription to Linn's these days, does anyone know if there is really any truth to this claim of an error?

Funny, there's other sheets currently listed with "broken frames lines" for less. This is due to poor printing and not a major error. I use them for postage.

There are more issues concerned with the recent Inverted Jenny reprints, than with the original Inverted Jenny.

It is hard to see. On the right (4) stamps, there is a small break in the INNER frame line, just below the E. To me, no big deal.

Quoting from the article: "...Jenny Invert panes have been slow to sell out. Sooner or late, the Postal Service will withdraw the unsold panes, potentially making those upright varieties in collectors' hands much scarcer than the 100 that were produced." This is the thought/speculation of the authors of the article. No mention about at what price/value will be in the future for the upright Jennys. The article mentions that only 19 have been report found as of the writing of the article.

Yes, and of course he is trying to draw some correlation between the potential value of an upright Jenny with an inking error. A very interesting fellow to say the least ...

Although this doesn't directly respond to the specific "error" referred to in the original ebay listing, this Linn's Stamp News article may be worth a re-read as it relates to the numerous printing anomalies found on this issue:

Thanks wt1 for posting a link to the Linn's article. It is an interesting read and is a good source of information for what is being seen with the new Jenny stamps.
