I was contacted by St. Paul Stamps about a 1995 60¢ Eddie Rickenbacker stamp with errors. What is the worth or where do I find this information?

Thanks.

Also, don't forget there are two varieties of the Rickenbacker stamp -- Scott 2998 and 2998a (large date). Some novices might confuse the two as some sort of an error.

Additionally, the term "error" can mean different things to different people. In general, color shifts, perforation anomalies, etc., are not errors in the truest sense of the word. If there are legitimate missing colors and features of the stamp, that would be more appropriately considered an "error".

Since Scott doesn't list any errors for the Rickenbacker stamp, I would guess that the stamp is probably a freak.

Sort of like the Flag over porch stamps in a way - large date/small date vs. lick'em & Stick'em sort of thing?

wt1, thanks for the tip on the large date/small date on the 2998. Found a large date among my stock to go with the small date I already had in an album.
