For what it's worth, here are my initial impressions of the stamps shown for 2015:
I realize the USPS has to get the legalities in order before announcing stamps, but the stamp subjects announced are all artwork, photographs or paintings, NO PEOPLE.
Sure, the USPS has said they will be releasing a Black Heritage stamp, but for something planned for (presumably) February 2015 during Black History Month ... which is only 90 days away and to not have all of the details in place by now on the person to be depicted is a bit disconcerting.
Likewise, mention is made about the fact that there will be two Music Icons featured, but no mention of the genre of music they are planning to focus on. Since we've had Rock and Country musicians featured in the past, maybe other forms of music are planned?
What about definitive issues? Even though stamp prices aren't changing, will there be some new definitives for bulk mailers and for first class use, not to mention postcard rate stamps? No mention has been made about stamped envelopes and stamped cards, either.
In closing, I agree with all the negative comments posted about the "underwhelming" issue entitled "ME TO YOU" as the development of that issue with words only shows very little creativity and will probably be a poor seller and/or voted the least necessary stamp of 2015.
On a positive note, at least it is good to see we're getting some information out of the USPS but I suspect there is much yet to be announced.
