Guys,
When I usuall soak my stamps, some of them (usually recent US stamps) are still sticky and if I try to put them in my stock book, the stamp will just stick in the stock book. On the other hand, if I put it in an envelope, the other stamps will get damaged as it will stick in the sticky stamp.
I would appreciate any advice that could be given.
Thank you very much
John

Hi John......
Some have no remedy......but, I've had some luck using 91% Isoprophyl Alcohol......rubbing alcohol......found at any drug store or Wallmart. It can sometimes take a little work carefully rubbing in the alcohol to remove the gum but some stamps a worth it.
Linns Stamp News publishes an ongoing list of unsoakable stamps. I and a few others here generaly post the list when found in Linns. There will probably be an up date soon. |

Thanks very much. By the way, will the colors of the stamps be damaged if it gets in contact with isopropyl alcohol? Thanks again |

Quote: some of them (usually recent US stamps) are still sticky and if I try to put them in my stock book, the stamp will just stick in the stock book. You could put them in "Hawid" (I think that are stamp mounts, in English - http://media.auvito.de/images/cache...4f1bda9e.jpg ). When they stick in there, they can't do any damage to other stamps (or themselves). Or you could stick them on a piece of pergamin on purpose, so that their "sticky parts" are covered Also I don't think that the powder should be replaced with lotion, or am I wrong again |
