Hi guys..Not too familiar with American stamps...Could anyone tell me if this is a re-entry, or just another ink smear..?

Thanks, Robert

Definitely not a re-entry. The stamp is over-inked, so the ink smear on the side is not surprising. The other anomalies you point out are interesting. As many plates of this stamp exist what you maybe seeing are plate/position varieties. Sadly (to my mind) plate and position varieties have not been mapped out for these stamps to my knowledge.

Thanks smauggie...Didn't really think it was a re-entry, but had to ask...

And it is funny how the same stamps can look different from each other..?

I agree. If I was feeling really passionate and very competent about plating these more modern, yet still classic US stamps I would do it myself. As it is, I have enough projects on my plate.
