Hello all:

I am currently a graduate student at the University of Maryland, and I am studying communities. I've been exploring your community, and I'd like to study it for my semester project.

I'd like to send a brief survey to several volunteers to get their opinions about the level of community at the site. It would be pretty short, and I'd have it ready in the next couple of weeks. I may also have follow-up questions in later weeks.

Let me know if you are interested in this project. It would be great to study your community.

Thanks in advance!

Would there be more interest if I offered a financial incentive? Please let me know specifically what would work.

Hello Seth, it may sound a worthwhile project but you have to understand what with all the phishing going on over the net.
To just jump into a forum and ask for certain information, people are very cautious by nature. On that note I wish you well.

I was just thinking ...
Maybe the University of Maryland mailroom might be the perfect place to post a memo to those departments that receive alot of mail to save all cancelled stamps for your project , now that would be a great incentive for forum members , stamps on paper are a great way of adding stamps to any collection and requires no money.

I'm just wondering how much mail is received at the University , not like it's a payment center.
