A stamp I'd won on ebay came today. It was the 2 cent Pilgrim Tercentary, scott # 549. It made me happy, but what really tickled me were some of the stamps on the envelope: four Kansas Territorial Centennial stamps. Just the kind of thing I like! I know there's a lot of these stamps out there, and they're literally a dime a dozen, but I still thought it was a nice touch.

I'm always as exited about the stamps on the envelopes as in also Chicken. Getting the mail is always the best part of my day. Dianne |

One of the reason why I get disappointed with big stamp companies when we uy stuff is the fact that they dont use stamps but instead use the machine printed postage to save money |

I always use older stamps on the letters I send out. I'm sure the recipient appreciates them. David |

I am sure of that David....I always think that people are much more thoughtful if they use stamps in sending something to collectors... |

I also enjoy seeing stamps on my incoming mail. I always by commemoratives for my outgoing. Plus if it is a collector I'll try to use a spare cachet cover I have just to spice things up. I also do not like it when Stamp dealers, societies, clubs, etc. do not use stamps on their mail (I understand it digs into their inventory). However, there are postal permit collectors & spray on cancel collectors. Pretty much if something shows up with a stamp on it, my wife assumes it is for me unless it is near a special occasion(christmas, birthday, anniversary, invites).LOL She then asks me: "what did I buy now?" |

I agree with you stamperdude.. my sentiments exactly. I understand that stamp companies need to save on costs but its like being a hypocrite altogether...I mean they themselves hould support the use of stamps in letters and even propagate its use |
