I've considered purchasing a decent low/high frequency light to detect tagging etc. In looking over whats available, I find much said to be self serving advertising and little fact from actual owners/users and would appreciate some unbiased info from actual users experienced in these lights on the market.
What do you use?, How successful are the results? My use will be mainly for US stamps. Are there those which are better in detecting the different tagging methods?
Thanks in advance for any assistance you can provide.
Don

Hi stampnut, and a happy New Year to you and the whole forum!
This subject has been handled thoroughly in the past. Have you tried searching this forum?
I use two different lamps. My favorite for tagging is a small portable, battery operated unit made by UVtools. Website www.UVtools.com and their phone # 512-775-1416. It is sold by different folks ( Amos Advantage among others ) but cheapest directly from them.
For paper types I use a longwave light that plugs in. It was sold by Lighthouse publications.
Both of my lights come with two bulbs ( one for long- and one for short wave ), but I hate to keep having to change the bulb!

Thank you Peter. Just ordered the M12 from ultraviolet-tools.com and look forward to being able to see that tagging. Appreciate the response and information.

Have a Happy New Year!
