Yesterday I won a lot of worldwide covers for ONE CENT being the only bidder..being a good citizen when the ebay generated invoice came on my e mail I paid the asked for 4.95 shipping and one cent for a total of 4.96 ! I have shipped 80 covers to people in a 4.95 priority envelope..so I did not see a problem..this morning I get a e mail telling me if I read the RED PRINT I was supposed to wait and see what the actual shipping to my location is..What can the shipping be unless they are going to load me up with an inflated shipping and handling charge for winning their lot for a penny ! I dont care about the 4.96 ..but I dont like games..waiting to hear from Salamanca (the seller) and will keep you posted..also why did they have 4.95 shipping and handling on the listing if its not the true shipping ? I will talk to ebay and paypal and if I have to I will send in the SHOCKTROOPS (my wife) she would deal with them without breaking a sweat !!

Phil..You can bang the with a nice negative F/B, and
with ebay's new policy, they can not hit you back.

John I am waiting to hear what they have to say..we will all know the rest of the story..i do have a concern about sellers on ebay who use shipping and handling as their profit ! Bobgggg I was going to give someone a neg feedback a couple of months ago,,eBay did not make it easy..first my neg feedback was rejected and they asked if I had tried to reconcile the problem with the seller..in the end I hit positive but gave him the lowest amount of stars allowable ..it just was not worth the hassle !!

Bob, thats an option..it still rings up in the positive column..but hopefully people will see through it..often we do not see a sellers feedback until we have bid !!

Oh, I am sorry to hear that..It is just disappointing when people take advantage of other people especially in tough economic times like now

John, I received an e mail this morning from the folks I won the penny lot from..kind of apologetic after I said my piece yesterday..the gist of it was they said they did not realize I had paid the flat rate postage fee ?? and that they thought I got a good deal ! I will reply to them after a while....

Well by paying so fast you just might have prevented a large increase in shipping and handling charges. I'm sure they would have used that to off set the bargain price for the auction.

I agree....It is good that you were an experienced buyer in ebay coz a newbie would have easily been fooled

I felt that I had paid a valid ebay generated invoice with the stated shipping ..that I won the lot for a penny is not my problem ! I would not have sent them any additional payment..now it should be over and they will get a decent feedback all things being equal !

Phil, I left a sarcastic positive once, that was when they could retaliate. He deserved it. And he was PO'ed.
But as you say need to wait on the evidence. Right?

i prefer the old ways..when if I felt an negative was justified I knew I ran the risk of getting one back..heres on case..i won 2 postcards from a guy in Maryland...shipping was 1.50 each..i asked him if he would combine postage and he blew his stack and gave me a neg..i think he jumped a little quick or knew I was not going to pay him 3 dollars to ship 2 postcards which would have cost him 39 cents,so I gave him one back..then ebay stepped in and asked if we would agree to quash the deal..we both agreed but the negatives stayed for I think 6 months.
