It occurs to me that postcards of buildings or bridges or statues or whatever, under construction or reconstruction or restoration or whatever, deserve their own thread.

Here is Florida's Sunshine Skyway Bridge, before re-construction.

First one to post one of Lee Iacocca's fund-raising postcards wins, but anyone who beats them to it with anything *other* than Mr Chrysler refreshing the Statue of Liberty gets double miles.

Cheers,

/s/ ikeyPikey

That a pretty difficult subject. The best I can offer will take two cards, mailed a little more than two years apart. The reconstruction is of the town of Point Arena, Cal after the destruction of the 1906 earthquake. Point Arena is on the San Andreas Fault, 100 miles north of San Francisco. This first view is looking east, the second view looking north

These aren't mine, but a couple I found while searching the internet:

1. The construction of Mount Rushmore:

2. The construction of the Sea Wall at Galveston, Texas:

Another card to further illustrate the damage done to Point Arena April 18, 1906. I didn't include this card as it is not mine. This photo was taken from the area photographed on the first card, but now looking southward, notice that the post office is still standing.
