I just received what I had hoped looked to be a pretty nice J26 on ebay. Unfortunately once I soaked it off piece I found it's cancel has cut the stamp#$%@!

But... underneath the stamp is what looks like another cancel which says GISLAVED 5 7 1893

Googling GISLAVED I found out the Swedish tire manufacturer Gislaved was founded in 1893. But that couldn't be could it?! Maybe Gislaved was named after a town in Sweden?

No big deal I only paid $1.25 for the stamp including shipping, I'm intrigued more than anything. Anyone have any ideas?

I guess the envelope that was mailed in Sweden did not have enough postage on it? Some postal official put the postage due stamp over the original cancel?

There is a town named Gislaved in Sweden, in the south of the country.
