Every single ebay listing for a used imperf Circus sheet thus far has been an FDC. No commercial/nonphilatelic usages to be found. Given that the press sheet has sold out, my guess is that legit usages of this will be fairly tough to come by down the line.

A few weeks ago I needed to send a priority mail package to my mom, and I franked it with one of the sheets. I enclosed an oversized SASE also franked with one of the sheets, and I asked her to cut out the former and send it to me in the latter.

Post yours!

I like to cut up the sheet and use the 50 cent stamps as 49 cent ones. It's fun to send them. Probably much more rare would be someone using the perf version to mail something.

Have you had any problem using the 50c Circus Wagon stamps on ordinary letters? They're not tagged.

When my FDC arrived from the USPS (I ordered one through their catalog) I was surprised to find it was imperf. Every image I saw of the sheet had the perfs shown, so for a short time I thought I had something special.

I picked up my issue of Scott Stamp Monthly and had to read the description for this issue a hundred times. So correct me if I got this wrong:

Die-cut perfs = yearbook only
imperf = press sheets
imperf w/die cut frame = official FDC

Yes? No? Maybe???

Nells: You are correct. The die-cut version (die-cuts around the stamps) is found only in the yearbook. The imperf version (die-cuts around the SS border) are found only in the press sheets.
