Back when in the post offices you could buy stamps from a machine, I would purchase these, have kept them just as what the machine put them out.

Other then myself, is there any collector interest in these post office packages such as they are. I never opened any of them.

Have been waiting for someone who also saved them just as they came out of the post office machine.

So any members have these, do you keep them closed like I do, or am I just wasting my time with these.

Guess if no body is collecting these, I could always open them all up and just use them as postage.

Hi Dave, I think what you have is quite rare but also at this time pretty esoteric. I would keep it like that and document why it is in that special packaging. It represents an experimental stage of stamp vending. Perhaps many years from now it will be listed, just as Scott lists some early Washington Franklin coils that came in special paper sleeves. May take a while though.

I can tell you I bought three of Scott 2624-2629 columbian sheets wrapped in usps special packaging, the special envelope was in another plastic wrapped holder, and I value them pretty high as I have never seen any others. When sold, from special offices, they were typically opened so are very scarce as such today.

Remember early US coils from vending machines were not saved and as such are very scarce today.

Thanks for posting. Very interesting.

Crouse27, thanks for your input.

I just keep them all in a metal box.

Cheers

You are welcome Dave. It is also cool you happened to get the plate number single in that wrapper, making it all the more scarce.
