I always seem to find something interesting at our monthly asheville stamp meeting. Today I bought 4 Hawaii revenues. This is the only one not in my scott specialized. Can anyone help me out?
These are pretty scarce on document, they run several hundred dollars. A cut square exampe in the WESTPEX auction of 2009 brought $400, and some have probably brought more. I don't know the exact details of why these not liable to duty stamps were used; apparently they were applied to tax free property conveyances.
wow - that's great to hear! I had never seen one before. It will happily join the others on the revenue page I make. Thanks for the link to the info Kevin!
One of our members was approached by a 94 year old man to help sell his lifetime collection. He knew he would not get much taking it to a dealer so members of the club have been purchasing stamps from his collection. Not many are left. Yesterday more recent stamps and BOB came in. Not much in the way of BOB, but I guess the gentleman was a sugar trader in Hawaii and that section was wonderful. I did not have my list with me, but I knew I lacked Hawaii revenues. I purchased the 4 he had. This one, an R3, R5, and R15.
