There nice Stampnaround,I also like the variation too,I haven't found one of them as yet.
And like yours my set stopped at the 50c Columbus recalled and my 30c has a few perf's missing but what I paid for it as a filler wasn't to bad, sooner or latter I'll complete the set but I'm in no hurry to do so at the present time.

Sorry to be full of questions, but the posting of mkfarm has a bulls-eye cancel, right? Is that good, or bad?

Jdgarst -- it's a good thing.

A desirable cancel located/centered nicely on the stamp.

There's a short article on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Socked_on_the_nose

KirkS-

Thanks so much for the good info. I really have alot to learn, and am so interested in it all! This really is a good place to grow in the hobby. I have some bull-eye cancels on some stamps. Hopefully, I can get a nice camera and post some interesting examples!

John:

A camera is good, a scanner is better (in my opinion). I have a small Canon flatbed scanner (around $60). I use it here, but also for photos, scanning important documents, receipts, etc. It's been a good investment.

Either way, I look forward to your input on SCF.

Those are nice Harry!
I am still looking for a nice used 50c, but I do have the $1.00 value.
However, I do have the 50c on cover.

My Columbians will soon appear, and have some brutal canellations, as well. I have a 50 cent as well. but not gotten to the dollar values. They are more expensive!

Harry I'm not going to lie to you. Those are the worse looking stamps I ever saw in my life! I'm sorry I have to tell it like it is.

Now just send them to me so I can take them off your hands.

Lets just say you have a lot more than my four and I would be happy with everyone that you have.

Nugget:

Nice set! The 30c looks great -- nice margins. The cancellation on the 50c looks like a thumb print but it's not so heavy that it obscures the design.

Maybe someday we'll get the $$ denominations...
