A wonderful person sent me 2 stamps(#1551 & 1551A) Presumably. How can I tell which one has the buff missing? Where should I be looking and what should I be looking for? I understand that buff is a shade of brown. Color key cost me $42.00 , so I like using it but am not sure these stamps are not the same. Thanks heps guys and gals

Looks like it's going to be tough to spot without plate numbers -- unless someone is aware of a feature predominantly that color in the illustration that ends up appearing to be missing.

Bandicoot.....
The one with the buff missing has an overall grayer appearance. |

Here you go......buff removed on the bottom....it gives the horse on the left a darker look. |

Thanks Tom. There is definitely a difference in the over all grey as well. |

James, you hid them well, but I found them. Here are the two stamps in question... They are a different shade of grey, but the horses look the same. Steve |

I can see the difference, but they are close.
Dianne, try to focus on the overall cast of the whole stamp. Also, I see it best where the horse's mane contrasts with the snow in the background and also under the horse's legs.

Yes, it looks as though the bottom stamp has a more gray appearance. Not easy to see right off! I must check my stamps, as well. |

So with the buff there lighter and with out the buff there darker and here's me thinking It's the other way around, thanks for asking this question James as I would have had them the wrong way around and not have known (that's if I find them in my collection). regards to all Harry |
