Hope "Back of Book" is the right area to post this...

I was sorting through an old album and found this on the US page. Was wondering what it is - it's perforated, not cut from an envelope. Is it worth keeping, I wonder?

It's a meter strip. The meter used a gummed label to print the postage and then it was affixed to an envelope. These are more commonly seen on parcels, but from the rate it appears that this was affixed to an envelope rather than being printed directly on the envelope.

Ringo

Is the return address a business or private person's return address?

Most interested to know.

Cheers
