Cannot find in Scotts.
NO watermark
12x12x12xstraight line
Seems to be Type 1

No Watermark, perfs and color (24bit scan, 300 dpi) are driving me crazy.
Help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, Bob... your stamp is a Scott # 406, or a single from 406a...
more likely the latter...

There are a few positions where watermarks are very difficult
to detect... but, whether you are successfully able to locate
a watermark (or not), it's a 406, as there does not exist any
possibility that it's any other stamp...

To learn more about watermarks, and also access a formidable
database on W/F's... visit the link below...

Randall, thanks a million. Now if I could figure pricing on 20th century a friend wants to sell. I really do not know where to find that information in Scott's Specialty. She's in a bind for money! I did find 4-5 high value 19th c stamps.
Again, Thanks.

Hi FrBobT. Same answer we would give if someone inherits stamps. The easiest way would be a dealer. Another idea would be a local stamp club; someone could give you some idea as to worth. The best way would be to check E-bay, and see what others are getting for the same or similar items!
