Hi guys..This maybe a stupid question, but these exact souvenir sheets have 2 different cancellations..Is this because one was cancelled in Santa Barb and the other in New York...?

I was thinking that cancels were standard across the States..?

It appears the New York CIPEX sheet was a First Day of Issue - 19 May 1947; while the Santa Barbara CIPEX sheet was just postally used in o/a 3 or 5 April 1950.

Even so, not all the First Day of Issue for the CIPEX had the same cancellation. Some had a larger cancellation circle with the words "Centenary International Philatelic Ex. Sta" inside the bottom half of the circle.
