Since it's a holiday and the libraries are closed and I have no access to a Scott's Catalog, can someone give me a number for this stamp please?

Interestingly the postcard was printed in Latvia and mailed back there by someone in the US.

Scott #331 or 374, likely the second by date (331 issued in 1908, 374 in 1910). Both are fairly low value but at least above the minimum.

Ok. Thanks. Counting them I guess you're right. On my metal gauge, and looking with a magnifying glass, they seemed closer to the 11 1/2. Sorry.

That's an interesting flag cancel. Never seen one with the stars in an oval before. I'm sure someone will chirp up that it's quite common, but to me, it's quite interesting.

This variety of flag cancel is called an "ovate" and there are about 40 different varieties (excluding the main Boston post office, where there are many more). Lawrence is about the most common of any of the 40 and has the lowest catalog ($1 on a postcard). The marking was in use in Lawrence from 1907 to 1912.

Post marked at 2 AM on a Thursday morning ... Those Lawrence Mass postal employees worked late in those days - population was about 85,900.
