Southpaw, that cancel would have grabbed my attention too. I've never seen it. I found a Hensel, Wolff & Co. in the 1870 Philadelphia Business Directory (via Google Books) -- they were silk merchants. Of course I can't verify that this company was the source of your cancel, but it's a possibility.
