Tonight I went to Bible Study with a friend of mine at a Local Korean Church. While there I got to talking to a couple of people and started talking about Stamp Collecting and they asked if I had ny Korean stamps. I told them I had both South AND North Korea stamps and they almost fell to the floor. They asked if I was certain that I had North Korea stamps and I said I was 90% sure of it. They then told me about how North Korea has been so shut off from the rest of the world so to say. Well they finally asked if they could see the stamps I have because being from South Korea they had never really seen anything come out of N. Korea. So next week I am taking my Korean stamps to bible study with me and just might wind up with some new collectors getting started in the hobby. So here's looking at making new friends with the help of Stamps from a closed off country.

That is really cool. Isn't it amazing how you can connect with people over stamps. |

We Americans take so much for granted -- sometimes we need to be reminded of all that we have to be thankful for. KirkS P.S. I hate ending a sentence in a preposition, but that's the only place I could put it at. |

Just wondering - Since North Korea is (and has been for most of my life) so strapped for cash, do they export a lot of stamps for the revenue like some other communist countries have? |

At the time I thought I had quit collecting for good (1973), the stamps of North Korea as well as Communist Cuba, North Vietnam and mainland China were barred from import into the United States and not listed by Scott. |
