Good centering, great price, but it looks a little pale in color. May be the scanner. Overall, yes, good buy.

It's very faded. You might be able to revive some color a bit with a hydrogen peroxide bath but that's really for sulphereted or oxidized stamps though. Don't soak it for more than 30 seconds and then put it in some water before drying it.

For $4.00 it's worth a shot

It appears to have had a cancellation chemically removed (especially noticable in the upper right) - thus accounting for the faded color. Keeping in mind the VF+ centering, I would consider this a fair deal, but not a bargain. Welcome to SCF odocon!

Note top left corner: I agree with Rileysan; stamp looks chemically washed to remove cancel on right side - darker shape top left hand corner appears to be where stamp was held by tongs when stamp was dipped. Welcome to SCF odocon!

odocon, welcome to the Forum! Rileysan is likely correct. I recently thought I had a high value US stamp that appeared to be a mint Scott 124 -- sans grill. An experienced stamp dealer I spoke with at a stamp show used watermark detection fluid to show me the telltale hint of a cancellation mark that was only evident from the gum side. My "gem" had also been ironed to remove the grill points, and regummed to appear "mint". My find had been faked. Oh well!

Calling that stamp unused, no gum hedges rather deeply into the realm of mendacity.

odocon the C1 stamp with no gum is used. Like others said it is badly faded likely to wash the cancel away. Stain is evident in top Left corner and cancel is evident on left bottom perf. However the stamp is still a fair buy. They are selling used on Stamps to go for anywhere from $7.50-$12.00 used. Many of those are cancelled so heavy the stamps is almost ruined. So at $4.00 you sure didn't get hurt.

Odocon welcome to the forum. Yeah it's used but not that bad of a deal. As Rileysan stated it does have nice centering. With that said come back there's a lot of imformitive people here.
