I think Philb meant that it came from a stamp collector. But yes I would have to agree with Warrehouse that all mail is philatelic in nature. Some mail just appeals to philatelists more than other pieces of mail. For example, Hooray an item was delivered today that looks interesting on the outside because of the wonderful stamp(s) applied, instead of a meter, bulk mail stamp, or forever stamp.

From Dictionary.com...

phi-lat-e-ly [fi-lat-l-ee] –noun
1. the collecting of stamps and other postal matter as a hobby or an investment.
2. the study of postage stamps, revenue stamps, stamped envelopes, postmarks, postal cards, covers, and similar material relating to postal or fiscal history.

From this definition, I would say, yes! All mail is philatelic, but only to those that collect or study it. To the lay person, I would think not.

I think email as philatelic mail could be termed: "P-mail".

To think that we could be collecting pixels or jpegs of email postage stamps in a virtual stamp album to show each other on our internet stamp club. LOL
