You have a local post from Great Britain/UK from the 1971 strike. Do you have a image of the stamp in question?

Tina:
The international language of the posts, persuant the Universal Postal Union is French. Most countries will have etiquettes (labels) saying "air mail", "express", "first class", etc. in their own language and French. If you can look-up the basic postal terms you would find on a cover ("par avion" = "air mail", for example), that would simplify the process of deciphering the class or form of mail you are looking at.

Tina, Look at the upper left corner of the page on this site. You'll see a blue bar that says 'Navigation' on it, the the next bar below that says, 'Tutorials' just below that, click on 'Uploading Photos' it will show you how to do it! Of course if you haven't already tried this.
Good Luck! Mike |

It is an British local strike mail issue,1971, I don't have this catalog to nail it down. I've personally not seen this one before. But I know the gentleman who put the catalog together, I'll ask him. The high valve would indicate the it was intented for mail going overseas.

No worries Tina you are doing fine. Do not give up. When you scan your pictures you can resize. Play with the programme you are using or click help. I often click help and most times find the answer.
But don't worry, play around with it and once you get the hang of it they'll be no stopping you.
