The grid pattern of this cancel actually punches into the paper. I haven't seen this one before. Is there a name for this type? Was it common?

try a patent for Boston, (Cole PT-44) or Providence (PT-42 or 43) or some facsimile thereof.

doh...patent was the term I couldn't remember. Thanks. I'll do some searching.
