There is an interesting one with a serious thin jumping around on ebay like a yoyo. Rush-more, Bargainstampsales, and perhaps other usernames have been listing it, shill bidding it, buying it back and relisting it. July 19 it sold for $1641 to the shill and was relisted and sold again July 30 for $2747. Again purchased by the shill and relisted again today.

Irisgarden, you are not giving any leads! As soon as you let us know what it is we can report it to Stampsmarter!

Glad you did not bid. HMorgan10 for instance is a well known name for one of the "Cartel" folks. Consider this one reported!

I notice that Rush_mores entire set of high values US stamps sold again to their shills. S-132, S-42, and S-362 At least the informed bidders have learned there is no point in bidding. They are not selling at any reasonable price. |

Glad to see that others here are picking up on the "cartel's" antics! But I am not certain that he (this is all one person as far as we know) is simply making false sales to himself, but rather if there isn't some other scheme at work here? But I'll be damned if we can figure out what it is! It makes no sense whatsoever to keep making false sales, then relisting items again - when a lot of the prices are very good. Could there be some kind of tax scheme at work (he is in the UK), or that he can report puffed-up but false sales for some kind of gain? Who knows........ |

Bill, I'm just as confused as you are exactly what the cartel is doing here. Looks like they are willing to pay the listing fees for stamps sold even though they are not really sold. Your guess about a tax scheme is probably as good as any. This forum with knowledgeable folks like yourself are invaluable for people like me that are trying to buy expensive stamps and trying not to be taken advantage of. bill m. |

Smells like a money laundering scheme of some sort. He's probably using these fraudulent sales to issue legitimate invoices to prove legal receipt of illegal funds. |

Jenny2U: is that a guess or do you KNOW something?
Suppose we step back from the idea that he is out to sell anything. Suppose we imagine him as an angry man (as we have been told) out to tweek noses and stir up trouble. Then his antics make sense, but only if we get riled up about it ourselves.
We know his material and see him for what he is. Why give him the satisfaction? Matter-of-fact-ly inform the uninformed as they drift in, and move on. Fretting about it isn't worth it.
Certainly not in a forum devoted to discussion of US Classic stamps.

LOL! I've removed my rose colored glasses and see clearly that he's nothing but a con man out to make a dishonest dollar. The two posters above me wondered what he had to gain by all these fraudulent sales. You can be sure that a tax benefit is the farthest thing imaginable from reality.
And since he sells US classic stamps, this is the perfect venue to warn buyers as many times as possible. |

Quote: And since he sells US classic stamps, this is the perfect venue to warn buyers as many times as possible. From the title I thought this thread was going to be about a stamp. I see it is really about a seller. There is already a forum at SCF dedicated to selling and seller problems on ebay. https://goscf.com/f/27According to the descriptive note by the list owner: "This is the place for ebay and other auction site discussions." That's pretty clear, but the last time you folks posted there anything like the one you posted here was an item by Don back in June. Of course the usage numbers of participants here are bigger, and you are on a mission. Would that have something to do with it? I really don't mind it once in a while, and it has been over a month so this is not a big thing, but please, come in the front door and you'll get a better reception. |

I believe you have me mixed up with someone else. I love ebay and am on no "mission" whatsoever. And a quick read of the first post would have told you what this thread was all about. Your browser has a back button. Once again I request you not try to control how I (and others) post. |

The saga of Rush-more's S-132 continues. The last time is sold for $1525 to Rush-mores shill _***6(106) for $1525. That was ebay number 351471408403. It was valued at $3750 then. Now it has morphed into a very rare S-122a without grill and part of Admiral Walkers gift valued now as a collection at $40,000. and being sold by mint-stamps which is another iteration of Rush-more, Postage Dues, and other user names out of England. This is now ebay number 151786864211. I don't know if ebay realized how stupid they are letting these folks play fast and loose with lots of shills, lots of different varieties and lots of imaginary sales always looking for a naive collector with more money than good sense. |
